Stakeholder Meeting - New Mexico Dust Storm Safety

This is a collaboration with the NM Department of Transportation on their NM Dust Storm Stakeholder meeting, The goals of the meeting were to 1) improve our understanding of dust storms and dust-related crashes; 2) develop an interagency coalition to reduce dust storm crashes, injuries, and fatalities; 3) introduce new driver safety and dust mitigation projects; 4) leave with a consistent safety message for the public and commercial drivers; and 5) identify challenges to be addressed, and establish working groups to the highest priority ones. This was to be the first of several dust storm stakeholder meetings to be held that are part of a larger dust storm safety project being conducted by the NM Department of Transportation. The most significant achievement was that it brought together various individuals up to speed on the importance of dust storm transportation safety.
