Environmental Health Science Cafe: The Impact of Climate Change on You
"The Impact of Climate Change on You" with Dr. Heidi Brown and Dr. Gregg Garfin
With 'Environmental Health on the Rocks', a science cafe' brings the community together with UA scientists in a relaxed setting. You will have the opportunity to converse with environmental health specialists, learn about the latest research, and explore issues that impact human health.
Dr. Brown has a research focus on epidemiology and control of vector-borne and zoonotic diseases. Her goal is to identify human disease risk by modeling vector, host and pathogen distributions. Current research includes: West Nile virus, dengue, valley fever, spatial epidemiology, and climate change.
Dr. Garfin works to bridge the science-society interface, in order to accelerate the exchange of knowledge about environmental and climate science between scientists and resource managers. His research interests include climate change adaptation, climate variability, and the effective delivery of science to decision makers.
